Chill Out!

Jul 08 2010

One major difference between the seasons in Moncton and the seasons in Sin Jahn’s are exactly that… the seasons.  Moncton has some clear definition between all four seasons: cold, snowy winters; wet, growth-filled springs; hot-as-love summers; and chilly, windy autumns.

St. John’s has two seasons… cold rain, drizzle and fog and VERY cold rain drizzle and fog.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the town.  However, Wikipedia confirms the dreariness of the climate realities in my fair hometown.

In my post earlier this week, I “complained” about the heat and Phil from Mud Songs suggested that moving to St. John’s would help.  Wonderful idea, but I decided to install air conditioners instead.  So, with some help from my darling wife, we managed to get the A/Cs installed in the bedrooms and the whole family has been sleeping comfortably ever since!

We are such a spoiled species.

I lived in NB for many years and always enjoyed the climate. Since arriving here in Sin Jawns, except for today, I’ve been trying to stay warm. Thanks for telling us about the need for a/c! icon_smile

It’s still hot as love here. 12:30 am and it’s 23, feels like 29, according to the weather network website.

Here in St. John’s, last night was the first night I slept with just a thin sheet over me, an arm and a leg sticking out the whole time. And we had the fan on all night.

I expect the weather will be half decent for another month.

I can’t say I’m fond of Newfoundland weather. I’d go out of my mind if I couldn’t get off the island at least once a year. Hence, we’re going to Cuba for Xmas this year. Next year I’m thinking Jamaica. Gotta have something to look forward to.
