Been on vacation in Newfoundland. Got lots of stuff to catch you up on but for now I will leave you with a little exercise routine I learned recently.
- Stand on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.
- With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.
- Each day you’ll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags..
- Then try a 50-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms out straight for more than a full minute. (I’m currently at this level).
- After you feel confident at this level, put a potato in each bag.
Thanks Donna!

He’s doing pretty good. It was a rough first week for him, getting adjusted. All the other kids hootin’, hollerin’, drinkin’, partyin’, just wasn’t his style. He thought that it was going to stay that way, but this week it eased up and his only complaints are the food and his room! He’ll survive… and he has weekends with family.

it’s not that you’re back, but the site is back. I can tell you, there’s been times when a soul needs to let off from time to time and the site gives me a chance, from the insane schedule I keep, to relax and say “Yes” there are others out there that are experiencing life as I know it. I live in a world where everyone wants it yesterday, and today has barely begun. I have people bringing in floppy discs to retrieve files that generate as much interest as a wet dish rag and deadlines screaming at me all hours of the day and night and still sometimes my place of solitude and relaxation is going back to the site to see if the latest antics, perils or happenstance of the Melee family is anyways reminisent of what the Smiths go through on any given day of the week. I would rather have changed the tagline line to read “We’re back, well almost” because the site has and still is giving us the ongoing insights, sounds and smells of the whole clan, and not just an individual raving as some are ought to do, not me mind you but people do tend to go on and on, talking about little or nothing that’s of interest to even less and then there are … well you know what I mean. Here it is, Saturday night and the older child is out solid from a weekend of being with friends, the youger (bad to the bone)-hey” isn’t that a song”, is in her room plotting something that will have us screaming at the top of our lungs as Sunday progresses into Monday morning, “da missus” is wrapped in her favourite fleece PJ’s and settling in and here I sit, beer in hand, wondering, what was I thinking when the preacher said “do you take …
You know, when those words are sounded they should really give ya the whole story. They say for better or worse, but we never ask what the worse could be. That’s for another time for today I’m just glad that the authors are back, well most of them, and that we can continue to share in the the very real and sometimes exciting “goingson” of the Melee clan. Welcome Home
