I went for my bi-annual dental check-up this week. The following is a conversation I have with my hygienist every time I’m there.
DH: My what nice teeth you have. There’s no tartar build up at all and you have VERY healthy gums. You must be flossing regularly! Good for you.
Me: Nope. Don’t floss at all.
DH: Then you must certainly be brushing 4 or 5 times a day.
Me: Nope. Once certainly. Twice if I remember before going to bed.
DH: Then you don’t drink coffee, eh?
Me: Only 5 or 6 cups a day. When I’m not drinking coffee, I’m drinking Pepsi.
DH: I hate you.

We share the same brushing and flossing habits, except the dentist warns my gums are receding – gotta use an ultra-soft toothbrush and a non-abrasive toothpaste.

When I first moved to Moncton 8 years ago, I hadn’t been to a dentist in about 10 years. At that time, the hygienist told me she couldn’t believe it had been so long. To her, it appeared I had been visiting dentists regularly. For a few years, I ignored their advice to use a soft toothbrush. When I finally complied, within a year I had a cavity.

Yer too friggin’ cheap to have anything wrong with yer teeth cause it costs too much… I got ya figured out… Imagine what your teeth would be like if you did floss everyday and brush your teeth at least 3 times a day, hmmmm, tho’ if it works for you the way you have been doin’ it, I guess I’d leave it. Luv ya…
