Facebook Wants, No, NEEDS To Know…

Sometimes things you read strike you in a funny way.Facebook watching

Facebook, a social networking site, is growing in popularity.  It seems as if everyone and their dog is on there.  It has allowed people to connect with long lost friends and relatives and know every mundane detail of their lives.  Folks update their current status with short one-liners attached to their profile.  This can be interesting and informative, but often just a little too much detail for my comfort.

  • Bob is at his kid's hockey tournament
  • Judy is feeling groovy
  • Mark is going to the mall
  • Steve is taking a shit
  • Steve has run out of toilet paper
  • Steve almost had a shit when he saw the price of TP at the corner store
  • Lisa is alone in her house and thinks she forgot to lock the door

But sometimes, it can be downright funny.

I got a email today from Facebook.  It read:

Donna says that you two are married on Facebook.  We need you to confirm that you are, in fact, married to Donna.

I gotta ask… does declining to confirm this Facebook request annul the marriage?  icon_smile  Anyone wanna bet that declining at least initiates an interesting conversation?  I don't think I'll risk it.  I'm going to confirm the request.  Facebook has a right to know.

I joined that racket in May, and for the first few days it was like crack. They don’t call it crack book for nothing. I only check it out every other day now. But it has been great for getting in touch with old friends.

Hey, welcome aboard Nadine. Yes… this facebook think IS a little addictive. I’ve managed to remain only mildly interested in it though. I’ve read other blogs that have claimed that Facebook has distracted them from blogging… I’ve tried to keep it the other way, with blogging distracting me from Facebook.

Ha, Ha, I was totally on board with you about not letting Facebook cut into the blogging time – seriously with you and then I realized the irony – both are still on the computer – oops. must do laundry . . . I borrowed your Round Tuit BTW hope you don’t mind. I’ve been procrastinating on a few things.
