		<description>Power steering &lt;em&gt;lines&lt;/em&gt;.  The belt runs a compressor that sends compressed hydraulic fluid through high pressure tubes that deliver that pressure to the mechanism turning the wheels, thus providing the extra pressure needed to assist the driver with the task at hand.  It was two of those tubes, or lines as I called them, that had to be replaced.  The belt was just fine (for now!).</description>

		<description>Update on both:  The car needed two power steering lines replaced.  It was also due for its annual safety inspection and, of course, both rear struts needed replacing.  $900.  Shit.

The van ended up needing the who rack-and-pinion replaced!  Luckily, the $1000 part was covered under warranty...
