I got ROBBED!

Oct 11 2005

According to Stats Canada, there are more than 2100 thefts under $5,000 per 100,000 people per year.

robberystats.jpgSome bastards broke into the saddlebags of my motorcycle this evening. I left for just over an hour, to go shopping, and when I returned my saddlebags were opened and the contents removed. The bike was sitting out in the open, in front of my house. They got a pair of leather riding chaps, two pairs of leather gloves, and a pair of Serengeti prescription sunglasses.

To add insult to injury, the cops told me that once the thieves discover the glasses are prescription, they will likely simply toss them. I paid 450 bucks for them. Damn.

2101 and counting.

When I lived in Newfieland I tried to sell my Civic. One day some guys came by for a test drive. That night, around 2am, my dog started barking like mad; I told him to shut up since we lived in Logy Bay where raccoons and other small animals often visited us. They next day when I went out to the car to go to work, I discovered the front door almost ripped from its frame, with the Alpine car stereo ALMOST ripped out – I had it bolted in there right good. They took my 10 CD changer that was bloted to the back of the back seat though.

The insurance company covered the theft, but the cops said they could do anything about it.

    I hate criminals.

OMG! That’s awful! Man, when you pay that much for them, get them insured ! So sorry to hear of your mishap. It only happens to the nicest people eh?

What is it with you easterners anyway?? You say no raccoons in NFLD & Donna tells me no squirrels in NB! I always thought “scavenger” type animals are like rats – you know, stowe away in the hold of a ship and escape when they dock?! LOL
